Craig came to the Study Centre for a fun and engaging poetry performance with Class 6 from Highbank Primary School.

Craig is a professional poet, writer and performer who tours the country sharing his passion and infectious enthusiasm for words.

He has a B.A.(Hons) in English language and an M.A .in Contemporary Literature. He has lectured in Creative Writing at the University of Huddersfield and Leeds. Craig has published poetry and has written 5 books.

He is working alongside the National Literacy Trust setting up football events at football clubs. He has worked with Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Manchester City, Everton and Nottingham Forest.

The pupils were encouraged to explore the rhythmic and performance elements of poetry. They loved him and were eager to take part-it was a fantastic event. They produced some impressive verses themselves and really enjoyed the opportunity to perform their football chants in the stands!

To end their fun poetry day to celebrate World Book Day, the pupils had the opportunity to participate in a Question and Answer session with Academy player Tim Hopkinson.
