Nottingham Forest suffered their second home League defeat of the season as Carlisle took all three points with their only shot on target. Forest played some good football, had more of the possession and far more chances than Carlisle in the first half, but with Carlisle defending in numbers they were unable to get on the scoresheet. But after a promising first half for Forest, Carlisle scored in the second half after a goalkeeping error and then defended successfully once again and were just too hard to break down.
