Three superb second-half goals gave Nottingham Forest their third League win in a row, taking them up to eighth place, just one point off the play-off positions.
It was an uneventful, scrappy first half littered with bad passes and poor finishing, with just one shot on target which went to Yeovil, who were marginally the better side.
After a slow start to the second half Forest gradually took control of the game. Once they had scored the first goal they grew in confidence and produced a further two excellent goals to put the game out of Yeovil's reach.
Yeovil won a corner in the opening minute and when Paul Smith's punch failed to get the ball away it had to be cleared by Julian Bennett.
Chris Cohen, who had been warmly welcomed back by the Yeovil fans, became unpopular when he was booked for a harsh tackle on Lee Peltier.
Forest continued to struggle to find their form and Grant Holt should have done better when he shot from just outside the penalty area, but his effort was weak and went straight into the hands of Romain Larrieu.
It was 25 minutes before Smith had a real save to make when he had to get on the end of Marcus Stewart's powerful drive which was on its way in at the near post.
There was another easy save for Larrieu on the half hour, from Cohen's free kick wide on the right ,but that also went straight into the arms of the Yeovil keeper.
Forest made their best break of the half just before the break. Junior Agogo picked up the ball in the Yeovil half and made a terrific run before feeding it forward for Nathan Tyson, but it was too far in front of the Forest striker and Larrieu got there before him.
It was an equally poor start to the second half and it was ten minutes before Yeovil had the best chance of the game so far, but Scott Guyett's header was cleared off the line by Agogo.
Forest finally broke the stalemate with their first real chance of the game when Sammy Clingan chipped the ball towards Grant Holt. He won the first header and knocked it forward to Luke Chambers who nodded in for his fourth goal of the season.
Kris Commons replaced Tyson just after the hour mark and within a minute he had made a break, trying a long-range shot at the Yeovil goal, which was blocked by the keeper.
Forest came close to a second goal when the ball came in to Holt's feet and he put it through to Agogo, whose superb half volley had to be turned round the post by Larrieu for a corner.
Agogo produced a truly outstanding goal in the 79th minute when he ran onto the loose ball, beat his man and while he was still running, looked up and seeing Larrieu was off his line, sent the ball flying from at least 35 yards into an empty net.
Commons' goal, just five minutes later was equally brilliant. As he ran through into the penalty area the ball was knocked through to him by Holt. Commons turned and produced a beautiful little volley that went in off the crossbar.
Substitute Emile Sinclair almost scored with his first touch. Commons squared the ball back to him and Sinclair's shot was headed for the goal but was accidentally deflected away off Holt.
Commons had still not finished and his long-range shot sent Larrieu diving to his right to tip the ball round the post.
