The Nottingham Forest career of Dimitrios Konstantopoulos would appear to have come to an end before it had even started after he was injured in his first training session with the club

Konstantopoulos, who had joined Forest on loan for the remainder of the season from Coventry, sustained an Achilles tendon problem in the closing stages of this morning's session.

The unlucky former Greece Under 21 international has ruptured the tendon in his right leg and must undergo surgery.

It's a bitter blow for Konstantopoulos, who had been drafted in by manager Colin Calderwood to provide "cover and competition" for first choice 'keeper Paul Smith.

One of the options now open to Forest is recalling Dale Roberts from his loan spell with Rushden & Diamonds.

Roberts has now completed the first 28 days of his loan at Nene Park, which means The Reds can recall him at 24 hours notice.
