The imposing central defender will be aiming to bounce back this season after an ankle injury disrupted his progress at the end of last season.
He missed seven of Forest's last eight League One games which opened the way for Luke Chambers to establish himself alongside skipper Ian Breckin at the heart of the defence.
The arrival of Kelvin Wilson has added to the competition for central defensive spots but it's hard to imagine Morgan not figuring prominently in Colin Calderwood's plans in the months ahead.
Born and brought up just a short distance from The City Ground, he had a spell with Notts County as a youngster but then linked-up with Nottinghamshire non-league side Dunkirk.
He was spotted by a Forest scout while playing for Dunkirk and given the chance to make his mark on the big stage after a spell in the Club's Academy.
