Nottingham Forest Reserves won the Pontins Division One Central League with a 6 v 2 win against a young Oldham Athletic side.
Forest made a lively start and Mark Byrne took just 4 minutes before he tested Josh Bell in the Oldham goal, but his shot just went wide.
With play flowing it was 10minutes before The Reds went ahead when Garath McCleary cut inside Liam Francis and his left-footed shot hit the top left corner.
With the midfield dominating the game Emile Sinclair and Hamza Bencherif both went close.
Forest increased their lead on 29minutes when the effervescent Byrne pulled the ball back to James Reidjust out of the 6 yard box to ram the ball home.
Oldham substituted their goalkeeper Josh Bell two minutes into the second half for Josh Ollerenshaw.
Oldham pulled a goal back after 56 minutes when Nathan Kilcourse shot through a melee of players past Shane Redmond.
Felix Bastians, returning from loan at MK Dons, was brought on for Garath McCleary on the hour.
Four minutes later Sinclair was pulled down in the box by Danny Knight and Alan Power slotted home the penalty.
